| Floating ring bearings with small size, simple structure, low friction power, highefficiency, low heat and high stability characteristics, has been widely used in theaerospace, automotive, paper making equipment, diesel of ships and tanks, as well asoffice and food industries. It solves instability (such as oil whip) ubiquitously in thehigh-speed rotation of bearing, and instability will certainly affect the stability of rotorsystem operation and reduce its accuracy, and some even can cause the damage of themechanical system.Floating ring bearing has its characteristics, but currently there is no perfect floatingring bearing design specifications in our country. The paper selected ordinarycylindrical floating ring bearing as the specific object of research, carried out floatingring bearing mechanism research, the determination of main structural parameters,overall design process of floating ring bearing, and oil film pressure field numericalsimulation research in the high speed and light load conditions and so on.Firstly, this paper briefly describes the research status of floating ring bearing athome and abroad and its application. The paper summarized the characteristics,application and research direction of the floating ring bearings, deduced Reynoldsequation of floating ring bearing based on hydrodynamic lubrication theory and thedimensionless of Reynolds equation, determined the oil film lubrication boundaryconditions, determined the specific structure parameters process of the floating ringbearing, improved the overall design process.Then, based on the finite difference method, the inner and outer oil film pressure offloating ring bearings was studied in the high speed and light load conditions. Gotthree-dimensional oil film pressure distribution in the different speeds, and then got themaximum pressure, the bearing capacity and attitude angle of the inside and outside oilfilm, and in addition to derive the formula for calculating dimensional oil film pressure.Finally, based on FLUENT software, the oil film pressure of floating ring bearingwas studied in the high speed and light load conditions. Described the basic knowledgeand computational fluid dynamics analysis software, established a floating ring bearingthree-dimensional oil film model, established three-dimensional oil film pressuredistribution of floating ring bearing, determined the boundary conditions, simulatedthree-dimensional oil film pressure distribution under different rotational speeds, got the maximum oil film pressure and compared with calculation result of the finite differencemethod.This paper further perfects the process design and specification of floating ringbearing. The research result has provided a certain theoretical basis and technicalsupport to the specific design of floating ring bearing. |
