With continuous innovation and application of science and technology in the fieldof construction, since first skyscrapers of the world appeared in1886, high-risebuilding ushered in a period of rapid development in the world. With people’s moremultifarious and increasingly demand for high-rise buildings, high-rise buildinggradually develops towards a higher height, more complicated shape, more perfectfunction and more diversified structural system. All of these lead to the more comp-licated structure, bringing more challenges for the structure design. In order to seek fora better project and achieve a more reasonable design, is one of the important subjectsin the super high-rise structure design. The strengthened stories of the superhigh-rise structure not only can reduce the displacement, increase the integrity of thestructure, but also achieve the optimized effect of structural layout and component size,making the structure project more economical.This article refers to the related theory of literature, and introduces the develop-ment of super-tall building, and some frequently-used systems of structure and thecorresponding scope. Taking a tower of a hub of Chongqing city as the research object,and the finite element model is established by SATWE and MIDAS BUILDING, andthen doing the structure design and related work independently. Basically has theseparts:①.This paper introduces the features, principles and assumptions of design of thehigh-rise structure, and introduces the working principle of strengthened story, andsummarizes its concept and merits and demerits.②.According to the related materials of the architecture,preliminarily completingthe selection of the upper structure and overall elastic computing.③.Based on the initial scheme,applying a strengthened story to the structure, andviewing its function on the structures.④.The optimization of structural layout and component size with strengthenedstory scheme,and then comparing and analysing the results.⑤.Changing the strengthened story’s arrangement of the optimization program,choosing the most suitable strengthened story project for the structure after comparingthe results, and then carrying on Elastic Time-history Analysis and Plastic Time-historyAnalysis, on whether it meets the demands of earthquake. ⑥.Coming to a conclusion in view of the above discussion and analysis, and theshortcoming of this paper and future work are discussed.
