At present, the period of high-rise building structures become longer andlonger.The calculated force is too small by response spectrum method and That theseismic shear coefficient is hard to satisfy the minimum shear coefficient specificationhas become a universal problem.At the same time, during the design process, how tomake the structure satisfy the least seismic shear coefficients is one of the most difficultproblems for code requirements engineers encountered in high-rise building structuredesign.The minimum shear weight ratio is an important index of seismic design ofhigh-rise buildings which has been controversial since it was introduced to the currentseismic design code. Reasonable structural design and satisfying the minimum seismicshear coefficient often exists certain contradiction and to adjust the minimum shearweight ratio, there are arguments between stiffness adjustment and intensity adjustmentat present. So the shear weight ratio to discuss and research is necessary.This paper compares the domestic and foreign relevant standards difference on theminimum shear weight ratio and response of structure between having no definedminimum shear coefficient and defined minimum shear coefficient and compared thedifferences between the structural adjustment of stiffness and strength.In this paper, the main work and achievements include the following aspects:①Two structures selected, one is limited to the minimum coefficient of shearstructure and the other is not. In elastic stage, to the limited limited to the minimumcoefficient of shear structure, the representative value of the gravity load, base shear,inter story displacement angle is smaller.In elastic-plastic stage,Defining the structureminimum shear coefficient can reduce the response of the structure, improve thestructural stress state, ensure the safety of structure.②Contrasting adjustment structure stiffness and strength of two kinds of schememakes the base shear coefficient can satisfy the requirements of specification, thestructure in the elastic analysis, elastic-plastic time history analysis, the differences incross section, dynamic characteristics, elastic response, elastoplastic response.According to the strength of adjusting the minimum shear weight ratio compared withthe model according to the minimum shear stiffness adjustment is heavier than that ofthe model, section of smaller components, less material, lower cost,.lower economicbenefits that structure model of stiffness adjustment. In the elastic phase, two groups of model response gap is large In the elastic-plastic stage, top displacement of the structure,the maximum inter story displacement angle, apex acceleration response are small, butaccording to intensity adjustment shear wall and column stress state is better than that ofstiffness adjustment.The paper finally gives a simple summary of the research results and point out thefurther research direction and problems.
