In the21st century, with the continuous development of high-tech, traditionalaircraft can not meet the growing demands of aviation, exploration and militaryapplications gradually, then the new-concept aircraft emerges. The new-concept aircraft,usually refers to the aircraft still in the exploration or pre-feasibility study stage.Compared with conventional aircraft, the new-concept aircraft has a significantlydifferent design concept, aerodynamic layout and principles of flight, fully reflecting thecharacteristics of exploratory, innovative, efficient and times.As an important part of new-concept aircraft, the main function of visual displaysystem is that external scene images will be captured by the onboard camera and to bedisplayed on the visual device. Therefore, it is the main window for the pilots to obtainexternal scene information. Its display performance status, that the breadth and fidelityof display, is directly related to the ability of pilots to make the right judgment on thecurrent scene, react timely, take accurate operation, and ultimately affect the operationalperformance of the new-concept aircraft.One design requirement of new-concept aircraft visual viewport is that visualizingthe outside scene of the flying aircraft in the full-perspective way. To meet the specialrequirement, a full-perspective visual viewport simulation system, based on sixviewports, is proposed in the paper. We propose an algorithm, based on six viewports,access to the external scene, that the infrared image of the external scene will becaptured by the six infrared cameras onboard and output in real time. The horizontal andvertical view angles of each infrared camera are90degrees, then the six viewing planecan be seamlessly spliced into a cube, to achieve the full range of the external scene. Forthe display of three-dimensional scenes, we propose a method of displaying it of fullrange on the two-dimensional view plane. Based on Mercator projection of infraredimages, we constructor a KD-Tree by the split space and use KNN search algorithm tosmooth the blank spots. For enemy targets in the scene, an incremental extremelyrandom forest algorithm is proposed, which could carry out the online learning on thecomplex background and the appearance models of the targets, in order to achieve thelocation of the target accurately. The experiments show that: the simulation systemcould finish the tasks of the new-concept flight visual viewport design, provide theexpected functionality with good full-perspective visual fidelity and real-timeinteractivity, and could obtain high-quality tracking results for a few number ofexamples.
