In recent years, with the rapid development of the national economy, more and more largespan bridges have been put into use. The cable-stayed bridge is one of the most competitivebridges and gradually becomes a key project for transportation projects. As an extremelydamaging natural disaster, the earthquake poses a great threat to peoples’ lives and safety.Especially when the bridges are destroyed by the earthquake, the cost will be hard to imagine. Therefore, in order to ensure the safe operation of this type of bridge, it is necessary to makesystematic anti-seismic analysis of bridges. This paper used large finite element software MIDAS/Civil do anti-seismic analysis ofMinpu Bridge II. The main contents are as follows:1. Built a finite element model of the whole bridge and did the dynamic characteristicsanalysis of the bridge.2. Response spectrum method and CQC modal combination method were taken for theanti-seismic analysis. Longitudinal, Transverse, vertical and two of the most unfavorablecombinations were considered.3. Dynamic time-history analysis of Shanghai Minpu Bridge II was taken to do anti-seismicanalysis in key position according to the response spectrum analysis result. Longitudinal,Transverse, vertical and two of the most unfavorable combinations were also considered. Thenthis paper did a checking of the shear capacity of the key parts of the main tower according to thedynamic time-history analysis result.4. Static-pushover analysis was taken to analyze the main tower of Minpu Bridge IItransversely and made some assessment of the seismic performance to provide a reference for theactual project.
