Non-motorized is an important characteristic of urban traffic in China, in addition to theindividual cities, cities of different sizes transportation modes, non-motorized travel occupiedlarge proportion of all. Having the advantages of small volume, convenient and flexible,low-carbon environmental protection, etc, Non-motor vehicle subject to the traveler’s favorite,but due to the rising ownership of vehicles and non-motorized road space to be squeezed,coupled with an increasing number of electric bicycles, lead to mixed vehicle-bicycle isserious, a non-motor vehicle traffic accidents increased year by year, traffic environment andthe safety is becoming more and more serious. Therefore, studying the characteristics ofnon-motor vehicle traffic flow is particularly important.In this paper, on the basis of the measured data of a large number of sections, using themathematical statistics method and SPSS statistical analysis software features to analyzenon-motor vehicle speed characteristics of road, traffic conflict characteristics andrelationship between speed and flow rate, and studying the characteristics of non-motorvehicle traffic flow on road section.This article first analyzed the basic characteristic of non-motorized traffic, including themotion characteristics of non-motorized traffic, the user’s riding psychological and ridingbehavior, temporal and spatial distribution characteristics, speed and lateral distributioncharacteristics. Which focused on the analysis of non-motor speed characteristics, includingthe impact different separate types between motor vehicles lane and non-motor vehicleslane,and gender on non-motor vehicle speed, and validate the velocity distribution is normaldistribution. On the basis of the analysis on characteristics of non-motorized traffic, this paperanalyzed the traffic conflict characteristics and security features of non-motor vehicles, underdifferent separate types between motor vehicles lane and non-motor vehicles lane, conflicttypes and characteristics were analyzed between non-motor vehicles and motor vehicles,non-motor vehicles, pedestrians, and which focused on the analysis of conflict on the busstation between non-motor vehicles and motor vehicles; From the aspects of trafficcharacteristics and traffic accidents, bicycle and electric bicycle safety characteristics wereanalyzed, pointing out the reasons for the electric bicycle accident-prone and putting forwardnon-motorized safety countermeasures.The fourth chapter studied speed-flow characteristics of non-motorized mixed trafficflow with physical separation between motor vehicles lane and non-motor vehicles lane, andanalyzed under different mixing ratio of electric bicycles, bicycles, electric bicycles, hybrid non-motor vehicles speed-flow relationship and speed-traffic relationship correlation test,concluded: bicycle speed discreteness is larger, which correlation is very low with flow,mainly affected by the rider strength and gender; Under free flow condition, the velocitydistribution is near a expectation speed, when flow is greater than the critical flow, speed-floware in line with the conic function relation, finally set up under different proportionrespectively electric bicycle, non-motor vehicles speed-flow relation model, and applied themodel in practice, that serves as a reference of non-motor vehicle lane width settings of newor modified road.
