With the rapid social and economic development, the travel of people is becoming more and more frequent and the urban roads are playing an important role in life. The running state of intersecti ons reflects the running efficiency of the road. City signalized intersection is the main place of traffic conflict as an important node of city road. The right-turning vehicles will conflict frequently with pedestrians when they turn at a signalized intersection where there is no right turn signal. The conflict will lead to the deceleration and stop of the right-turning vehicles, then lead to the delay of right-turning vehicles. The conflict not only affects the running efficiency of the intersection, but also lead to the danger of pedestrians crossing the street.Some vehicles will traverse the pedestrians crossing area forcibly when they cross the line of people crossing the street because of the la ck of the knowledge of travel or in hurry. This behavior will increase the risk of pedestrian crossing the street though it decrease the delay of the right-turning vehicles. In order to solve this problem, the main contents of this paper include :(1) This paper analyzed the behavior of the right-turning vehicles traversing pedestrians crossing at a signalized intersection where there is no right turn signal from microscopic perspective, by adopting the combination of video observation and artificial observation method, considering the right-turning vehicles which traverse the pedestrian crossing area forcibly, set up and verify an average traffic delay of right-turning vehicles traversing pedestrians crossing area at a signalized intersection where there is no right turn signal when the pedestrians conform to the poisson distribution.(2)This paper established the delay model of right-turning vehicles crossing the line of pedestrians crossing the street on the basis of the right-turning vehicles which traverse the pedestrian crossing area forcibly when the pedestrians conform to the equal probability distribution.(3)This paper analysis the safety of the psychology and optimized the psychological distance model of pedestrians crossing the right-turning lanes. Then qualitative described the risk of conflict using conflict energy and calculate the risk of conflict in Changsha city intersection.
