With the rapid development and health operations of highways, the construction ofhighway network basically formed in our country. Highway convenient groundtransportation, led the regional economy, but also brought along regional and rural noisepollution problems by continuous construction and highway traffic volume increases.Nowadays, the growing of traffic noise pollution has become a serious problem can not beignored. Noise Barrier with its significant noise reduction, construction and processingflexible, conservation of land, environmental adaptability, has become an irreplaceablemeasure to control traffic noise.This paper studies by highway traffic noise causes, influencing factors, spectralcharacteristics, time domain characteristics and distribution, control their owncharacteristics and general rules of traffic noise. According to the principles of noise barrierand noise attenuation value calculation methods listed domestic common sound in the form ofbarrier structure and material composition,comparative analysis of the application of varioustypes of noise performance and noise barrier for the next step down the highway noise barriernoise study and analyze the applicability of different environmental good theoreticalpreparation.This paper relies on Wu Kun Highway of Yunnan province and " the research ofprediction and control of road traffic noise sensitive areas based on GIS " research projects,focusing on noise control methods. This paper emphatically studies the noise barrier settingsamong all the noise control methods. After analyzing the noise performance of different typesand scope of the noise barrier, the paper also outlines various factors affect the applicabilityof the noise barrier, and provide the basis for the following highway noise barrier sensitivetarget selection. By understanding the status of highway traffic noise pollution of Wu KunHighway, combined with the local topography, environmental, climate and economicconditions, expand on sensitive targets identified along the highway and on-site monitoringof sensitive target noise value based on the volume of traffic conditions to determine thenecessary noise sensitive targets, and ultimately to develop measures to reduce noise and acoustic barrier selection program.
