Interchange is an important point at traffic system, it plays a significant role in releasingtraffic jams and improving expressway’s traffic capacity, its safety affects the operating resultsof the highway network directly. So it is of great significance to analyze and quantify thesafety factors, the safety assessment system which based on these factors plays a prominentrole in guaranteeing driving safety and preventing traffic accidents. After analyzing thedefects of linear comprehensive evaluation, in order to get an objective evaluation result, thisessay introduces a non-linear evaluation model which can reflect the prominent factors’ effect.The main content of this essay is as follows:First of all, This paper analyzes the domestic and international interchange safetyassessment methods systematically, points out the shortcomings of the existing interchangelinear evaluation methods, and proposes improvement ideas.Then, the interchange is divided into three main parts: mainline, ramp, ramp transitionsection. The paper studies the safety impact mechanism of different sections systematically.after analyzing the disadvantages of linear fuzzy assessment, this paper brings the non-linearoperator into the assessment model. By building membership functions respectively, theassessment factors are quantified. A model which considers some important factors such asdistance between two interchanges, the length of acceleration lanes is built.At last, the model is applied to a project. in this process, the model analyzes twointerchanges quantitatively, the validity of the model is verified.
