This thesis designed and analyzed a special crane used for lifting opticalcomponents in the testing field of “Shenguang-Ⅲ” project. To proper fit the specialusing environment, the crane is designed to have a small size when it doesn’t work. Andit has stronger lifting and obstacle crossing capacity.The crane is made up by folding telescopic mechanism, slewing mechanism,Chassis Systems, weight balancing system and hydraulic system. The operatingmechanism is composed of two folding beam and one telescopic beam. Each foldingbeam drive a platform by a parallelogram linkage, and the upper mechanism is fixed onthe platform. So by this way there is only translational movement in the end of thecrane when the folding beam is derricking, making it much easier for user to control. Byusing the genetic algorithm toolbox, I have optimized the pivot location of the derrickingcylinder. In the paper I have designed the synchronous weight balancing system toenhance the lifting ability and designed the hydraulic circuit. In the process of designinghave used the CAD software Pro/E to build the three-dimensional model and have drawnthe CAD drawing sheets.The paper has used the APDL language of Ansys to build the finite element modelof the cane, and calculated different working conditions. After figured out the weak area,redesign it and reanalysis it until come to a more reasonable answer. Have built the sub-model of the platform and performed the topological optimization to find the reasonabledensity distribution. Have performed modal analysis to extract the first six naturalfrequency and the mode shape, and it’s very important for suppressing the noise andavoid resonance.Have built the dynamic model of the operating mechanism by using the finiteelement method, and created the cylinder force–time curve by Matlab programming.Then built the dynamic model by Adams and reach the corresponding curve aftersimulation. Have used the Ansys to build the flexible body of telescopic beam andexported it to Adams and performed the rigid-flex coupling simulation to find out theinfluence of the flexibility of the telescopic beam.
