The property of truck crane is determined by the strength of telescopicboom and the stability of crane. Telescopic boom is the main bearingcomponents on the crane, and it takes a large proportion of the weight of thewhole crane. So the mechanical property of the telescopic boom not onlydetermines the mechanical properties, but also determines the economicperformance of the crane in the market competition. There are a wide variety ofspecies and working conditions of the telescopic boom, application of traditionaldesign method requires a lot of double counting, which not only result in a longdesign period, but also make the product cumbersome because of theconservative design ideas.Telescopic boom is the main research object in this thesis, Parametricmodeling, static analysis, dynamic analysis and optimization design aresecondary developed by the language of APDL of the software ANSYS based onload identifying and force analysis. We can understand the mechanicalproperties of the telescopic boom obviously, and analyze the impact of the slider,the length of overlap and shape of cross-section by the result of static analysisconsist of cloud charts of stress, strain and displacement. Modal analysis is usedto get the natural frequencies and the changes of vibration modes, it can verifythe dynamic stiffness of the telescopic boom. Buckling analysis is applied tocalculate the Buckling eigenvalues of telescopic boom which can verdict thestability and find the unstable parts of the telescopic boom. Zero-order and firstorder are combined to optimize the telescopic boom and the three-hingemechanism in the optimization toolbox. The best cross-section shape and themost favorable position of the three-hinge mechanism are optimized accordingto the strength, stiffness and stability, which can make a full use of materials andreducing the weight of the telescopic boom. A set of modeling which containsthe function of modeling, analysis and optimization is developed through thesecondary development functions and macro operation commands of thesoftware ANSYS. It shortens the design cycle, and improve the work efficiency of telescopic boom.
