| With the advent of the automobile, road traffic accidents are also lurking as ashadow. The hazards of road traffic accidents are not just to make people’s lives andproperty under direct threat. More important, it will affect the physical and mentalhealth for a generation or even several generations. Traffic accident reconstructionworks involve a wide range of issues, and one of the most critical and complex work isthe reconstruction and analysis of vehicle speed.Main theoretical basis, which included the law of conservation of energy, the lawof conservation of momentum, the effective collision speed, coefficient of friction, bodyplastic deformation and so on were introduced in the paper. Meanwhile, theirapplications in the speed reproduction study have been described in detail.Secondly, since the four-wheeled cars accidents accounted for the vast majority oftraffic accidents, the speed reproduction methods about four-wheeled car andfour-wheeled car accident, four-wheeled car and two-wheeled vehicle accidents,four-wheeled car and pedestrian accidents were summarized. Based on my2years ofproject experience in the HIT at Weihai Automotive Safety Laboratory and many realcases, accroding to different characteristics of various types of accidents, differentmathematical models and innovative speed reproduction methods were proposed in thepaper.Finally, several speed reproduction methods for every type of traffic accidents werecompared and analyzed in the paper, and the range of their applications and relatedpoints for attention in practical applications were also suggested in order to obtain highaccuracy and credibility for speed reproduction.Through in-depth studies of the characteristics of the four-wheeled cars involvedtraffic accidents, summed up more reliable and practical speed reproduction methodswere summed up in the paper. And the scope of application of various methods whichhas provided reference value for traffic accident speed reproduction was also pointedout. |
