Wudang Mountains is the famous Taoist holy land in our country, Taoist buildingson the mountains with a long history. An enormous project and exquisite workmanshipof the Wudang Mountains embodies the artistic conception, like a jewelled palace inelfland’s hills. Shape features, environmental awareness, building technology of itsancient buildings are unsurpassed in the world, so most of the subjects to study theseArtistic treasures from the Angle of architecture. In decorative arts also has a wide rangeof space. The traditional decoration pattern as the basic elements of the architecturaldecoration art is a large category of academic research, there are a lot of content can bein-depth study.The research object of this article is the mount Wudang Taoist architecturedecoration pattern, and the early stage of the preparation is on the literature study.According to its geographical background factors such as culture, history, politics,religion started to study. We are using the results of previous studies to understand thestatus change of analysis Wudang Mountains and the current situation of Taoistbuildings. These studies made us aware of these patterns in architecture not only playthe role of beautification but also can convey contained in the construction ofinformation, culture and spirit.The main content of the first chapter is the related background information ofmount wudang which collected from the papers and documents. The purpose is tosystematically summarize the Taoism building. The second chapter is to describe thecontent of the historical development of Wudang Mountains, to understand the currentsituation of Wudang Mountains Taoist architecture and artistic achievement. And weselected the select key research object in the research process. The third chapter isthrough the investigation to understand the content of the architectural decoration artform, and study of "Three kinds of carving" and painted sculptures in the buildingdecoration. I classify pattern in detail, such as decorative theme, form, etc. The patternclassifications are analyzed. The fourth chapter is focused on understanding the contentof the mount wudang Taoism architectural decoration pattern and the general decorationpattern of universality and particularity, with unique Angle of view to understandwudang Taoism building decoration pattern shape, form, style, to analyze its aestheticconnotations and cultural connotation. The content of the fifth chapter is to call forprotect the existing art and culture, more fully make use of the research achievements ofmount wudang Taoist building decoration. Through the combination of modern andtraditional, we can more effectively promote China’s traditional national art and designideas, and make the traditional art rooted in modern design.
