The continuous diaphragm wall is built in the hydroelectric、subway or culvert aspreventer.During the construction of the continuous diaphragm wall, the first and mostimportant step is to dig a qualified groove.The hydraulic diaphragm wall grabs stands outfor it’s superior performance.The hydraulic diaphragm wall grab is designed for digging the qualifiedgroove.During the digging, the guarantee of the verticality of the groove is very important.So, the grab is vertical or not depend on the progress of the project. And the synchronismof double winch motor is the critical technology for the grab is suspend by two wincheswhich are driven by two motors. There is a cylinder installed in the grab used forunfolding and closed the bucket. To make sure the oil can be supplied to the cylinder, thesynchronism of hose and steel cable is the key technology as well.This paper focus on the main components of the hydraulic system and the workingprinciple of the hydraulic diaphragm wall grab. The main contents are:(1). Introduce the development of the underground continuous wall. Explain thehydraulic system used for the winches. The working principle of the hydrauliccomponents are given. And the movement relationship of the steel cable and the hose isexplained too. The load sensitive principle、 press compensation principle and theelectro-hydraulic control technology are analyzed in detail.(2). The development and the work principle of the PID controller is analyzed. OnePID controller is designed for the winches used for steel cable. The controller is designedfor the hose wheel.(3). The mathematic model of the hydraulic system is built. And the simulationmodel is built in the simulation software. Take the simulation into work. And the result ofthe simulation turns out to be the PID controller can fulfill the job very well.(4). At last, we do experiment on the hydraulic diaphragm wall grab. And theexperiment proved the correctness of the control strategy.
