With the implementment of the strategy of developing the country through scienceand education, Chinese education is enjoying a boom. The number of the students oncampus has increasied annually with the expanding enrollment of college and university. The students’ apartments constructions made a rapid unprecedentedly progress. Studentapartments, as the specific buildings, are one of the main venues for students studyingand living, so the thermal comfort condition directly affects students’ physical andmental health and studying efficiency. We should try to take advantage of passive meansto solve the problem of indoor thermal environment. The behavior of opening doors andwindows is a passive energy saving mode, which not only can guarantee dormitorycomfort, but also can effectively control energy consumption. Therefore, mastering doorand window switching rules and customs is of great significance for understanding theutilization of natural ventilation and energy assessment, and improving the indoorthermal environment quality.Doors and windows switching behavior is extremely complex, not only isinfluenced by environmental factors (such as physical environment and the social-cultural environment), the individual factors (Objective factors, such as age, gender andsubjective factors such as psychology, habits) also play an important role. So, doors andwindows switching behavior has a strong random, coupled with significant regionaldifferences, current studies at home and abroad are still relatively scarce. This paper uses a questionnaire survey methods, experimental testing combinedwith random theoretical analysis to research:First, the persons of the student apartments in Chongqing were investigated inAugust,2013, basing on subjective feelings for indoor thermal environment. And thenidentify the factors possibly affecting the behavior of opening doors and windows, providing the basis for later analysis.Secondly, based on the existing research status of switching doors and windowsbehavior, combined with the questionnaire for switching doors and windows behaviorfrom college students apartment, five underlying factors for affecting doors andwindows behavior have screened from the environmental parameters as experimentaltest parameters. Do the basic work for the later research of factors affecting thebehavior of door and window switching for college students in transition season in Chongqing. Then, after the experimental data preprocessed, adopt logistic regression analysisto establishment the model of opening hallway door probability and the model ofopening the balcony door probability for college students apartment in Chongqing intransition seasons. The models describe the mathematical relationship between the door-opening probability and significant factors, which shows the certain trend of door-opening probability along with the change of factors. Finally, based on the logistic regression models of the door-opening probability, introducing Monte Carlo simulation method, use Crystal Ball for Monte Carlosimulation to generate a lot of random numbers, which can describe the factors affctingdoor-opening behavior, and then put them into the model of the door-openingprobability as parameters. So that understand the combined effect between each factorson the behavior of door-opening, as well as the statistical characteristics of door-opening behavior.
