Chinese people used window openings to adjust ventilation for a long time.Window switch behaviors not only have significant influence on thermal comfort and indoor air quality,but also can reduce building energy consumption.Window opening behavior is also an important input for simulation software.Therefore,the study of window switch behaviors is of considerable realistic significance.There are many factors influencing window switch behaviors,which also have a lot of randomness.China has a very vast area and covers five climate zones.Different climate features and living habits would definitely affect residents'window switch behaviors.In this study,further analysis was conducted for window switch behaviors in different climate zones,different seasons,different family structures and different rooms.First of all,this study established monitoring system of indoor air quality,outdoor air quality,and window switch behavior in five climate zones and fourteen typical cities of China.The database of window switch behaviors in China's typical regions was built,by monitoring window switch behaviors and air quality both indoor and outdoor in living room and bedrooms of 58 residents in winter,spring and summer.Statistical analysis about residents'daily window switch behavior was conducted by data collection of three seasons.According to the median of window opening time every day in the whole country,the shortest time in winter is only 0.1%during a day,the longest is 65.7%;in spring,the shortest time is 13.5%,and the longest is 76.6%;in summer,the shortest time is 31.7%,and is up to 64.8%.Family structure,climatic zone,seasons and weekdays or weekends would have an impact on the window opening behavior.According to large samples statistics,window opening schedule for residents in our country has been formulated.The influence of outdoor temperature and outdoor PM2.5 concentration on window switch behaviors is also studied.The outdoor daily average temperature of26~oC was the turning point of window-opening behavior.When the temperature is lower than 26~oC,people would open window longer with the increase of temperature,while the window opening periods decrease when the outdoor daily average temperature is higher than 26~oC.Meanwhile,when outdoor PM2.5 concentration is higher than 115ug/m3,the window opening periods would be significantly reduced.And then large-scale subjective investigation and theoretical analysis based on large sample database were combined to dig the window opening driving force in deep.Subjective questionnaires showed that improving air quality is the main cause of residents'window openings,and before sleep in winter,noise and weather conditions are the main causes of window closings.The binary logistic regression based on large sample data shows that time is the main factor affecting window switch behaviors,followed by the carbon dioxide concentration,temperature and other environmental factors.Finally,the window switch behavior models of different regions,different seasons and different rooms were established by using binary logistic regression analysis in SPSS software.In this way,the window switch behaviors were predicted by time,indoor and outdoor environmental factors.
