With the vigorous development of economy and the improvement of people’s living standards, residents pay more attention to the indoor environment quality and thermal comfort.Built environment control is required to ensure the maximization of building energy saving under the premise of satisfying indoor air quality and thermal comfort. Therefore,it is one of the preferred strategies to build indoor environment by relying on the passive way connected with the external environment.Opening and closing windows is the most direct and effective means for residents to adjust the indoor environment.Accordingly, studying the behavior of opening and closing windows in residential buildings has important theoretical significance and practical value for building energy saving, indoor thermal comfort and indoor environmental quality.Window opening behavior of indoor occupant is not only affected by environmental factors, but also by inner will and personal habits and other factors.Window opening behavior of occupant has great randomness, making it difficult to study window opening behavior.Taking residential buildings as the object, this paper studies the relationship between indoor and outdoor environmental factors,non-environmental factors and indoor occupant’s switching window behavior during the transition season.Four typical residential buildings of different locations and building types in Xi’an were selected to measure their indoor and outdoor environment(including indoor and outdoor temperature, humidity, indoor noise, indoor CO2 concentration)and the switching state of windows multivariate analysis of variance was conducted for each environmental factor to determine the factors that had significant influence on the windowing behavior, and the significant influence factors of environmental factors,as well as the influence of non-environmental factors such as different time of day, building type and personal habits on the windowing behavior were analyzed. Finally, based on Logistic regression analysis, the corresponding single-parameter Logistic regression model and multi-parameter Logistic regression model of window opening behavior of residential construction occupant in transitional seasons in Xi’an were established respectively. The results show that indoor and outdoor temperature, indoor CO2 concentration and outdoor relative humidity have significant influence on window opening behavior, while indoor relative humidity and indoor noise have no significant influence on window opening behavior.According to the date alone, indoor and outdoor temperature is positively correlated with window opening probability, and indoor CO2 concentration and outdoor relative humidity are negatively correlated with window opening probability.Among them, indoor temperature has the greatest influence on window opening behavior. The prediction accuracy of the multi-parameter model is 74.8%higher than that of the single-parameter model.
