The form error of mechanical parts is an important symbol to measure the mechanicalparts processing quality.To a certain extent, it affects the quality of the whole machine orinstrument.However, assess accurately the mechanical parts of the form error become aproblem of the world machinery processing industry. Therefore, effectively evaluate the formerror has become a development direction in machining test field.This paper is based on the assessment methods and mathematical model of themechanical parts form error, it made a system research, and design a form error evaluationsystem,it include the function of data acquisition, data storage, data processing and datadisplay,meanwhile it proves its feasibility and validity by experimental data, the specificcontents are as follows:Building a working platform, the platform is based on the work table, inductivedisplacement sensor DGB-5B(micrometer), Advantech data acquisition card(USB-4711A)and a computer,it built the form error evaluation system’s hardware system;The form error (straightness, flatness, roundness, cylindricity) assessment method haveadopt the least square method and the minimum zone method, and made the theoreticalanalysis.On the analysis of different assessment methods of different form error, it achieve themeasurement of straightness error、flatness error、roundness error and cylindricity error,and itput forward more effective evaluation method,also it established the mathematical model,it’scomprehensive is strength;The form error evaluation system’s software system is based on the United States ofAmerica NI company’s virtual instrument-LabVIEW8.5editor software,according to theestablished mathematical model, it used the programming software-LabVIEW8.5and editedassessment procedure, the assessment procedure can more fastly and more convenientlycalculate the form error;it include the calibration data acquisition program, data fittingprocedures, straightness error, flatness error, roundness, cylindricity error evaluation programof six modules.After the evaluation of mechanical parts by using the evaluation system, the results andthe three coordinate measuring instrument for the measurement results were compared, theresults can be seen, it verify the feasibility and validity of the data,and realizes comprehensiveform error visual evaluation system.
