The natural frequency is very important to the measurement of dynamic cutting force, and thenatural will have an obvious decline when installed in the machine tools. The paper aimed atmeasuring high-speed milling force based on the existing high frequency three-dimensional millingforce test platform, with the financial assistance from National Basic Research Program of China (973Program)(No.2009CB724401). Meanwhile, the paper also conducted the regular speed and highspeed experiments for the validation of cutting force. Major research work as following:(1) Concerning the low natural frequency of dynamometers for high speed cutting to acquireforces signals, an initial model of high frequency dynamometer was designed and its naturalfrequency can be9kHz. Based on the method of Dunkerley, the simplified model of the dynamometerwas built to achieve the theoretical natural frequency and the computational formula.Meanwhile, thesimulation value and actual value of the natural frequency was got by modal analysis with the use ofthe finite element simulation and vibration modal test, and the high speed cutting test was conductedfor the validation.(2) Concerning the poor accuracy of the dynamometer and the point effect problem, the paperadded the torque to the conversion matrix, and got the coefficients of the calibration matrix. Inadditional, the regular speed and high speed cutting experiments were conducted to obtain the cuttingforces based on different conversion matrix, and verified the accuracy of the new conversion matrix.(3) Combined with the single factor method, the paper studied the relationships between differentcutting parameters and the cutting forces, which could provide technical reference for the actualprocessing.
