With the development of society and economy, human demand for energy is growing. Inthe case of a limited amount of energy, how best to achieve energy conservation has becomethe focus of the world. Asynchronous motor plays a very important role in everyday life,especially industrial production which is the main depletion of electrical energy. In fact,asynchronous motor often works in empty or light load because of various factors, leading toa low power factor and efficiency. That comes with a great waste of electrical energy.Therefore, it is of important practical significance to develop an appropriate energy-savingcontroller of three-phase asynchronous motor. It can reduce energy consumption and the costof business.The principle of motor energy-saving in AC voltage regulator is studied. By using thecharacteristic of thyristor’s self-shutdown, the zero crossing of voltage and current ismeasured instead of phase of measuring phases innovatively. As a result, a control program inwhich power factor is the control variable and firing angle is output variable is put forward.The model of an energy-saving controller of asynchronous motor is built in Matlab, and wealso analysis the conclusion.The hardware and software of energy-saving controller is designed. The design ofhardware includes the selection of the main components, the circuit of voltage synchronous、passing zero of current and thyristor trigger. The main control chip is STM32. The softwareincludes the setup and transplant of c/os-IIembedded operating system and the controlprogramming on the basis of it.At last, an experimental platform is built to conduct some relevant tests. Theexperimental results show that the system has achieved the required control functionsbasically and a good energy saving effect. As for the asynchronous motor that often works inempty or light load, the effect is best.
