Performance-Based seismic design more and more applied in engineering designespecially in Out-of-Codes High-rise building. However Under implementation code onlyconsider control story drift and load-carrying capacity to keep Performance of buildingsWithout consider deformation steel components.Technical Specification for Steel StructureDesign in Guangdong Province The exposure draft of the specification have been finished.Considerd the deformation steel components. The Dissertation is based on thePerformance-Based design of the Code. The main research content including the followingaspects:Compared the Code for seismic design of buildings、Technical specification forconcrete structures of tall buildings and ASCE41/FEMA356, Suggest usingDeformation-controlled or Force-controlled to describe actions of the steel components: forCan not be achieved reliable Inelastic deformation, using Force-controlled; for Canbeachieved reliable Inelastic deformation, using Deformation-controlled.Steel frame-core tube model is established, demand it to meet the conventional of elasticdesign in codes..and make stress ratio of steel components as close1.0as possible. Theelastic-plastic time history analysis was carried out on the model.Asking for the stress ratio ofsteel components to meet1.0as close as possible. Select the appropriate seismic waves andthe acceptance criteria of FEMA356to do Performance-Based design of the model. To viewthe range of story drift and the deformation of steel components. Analysis results show that:It is necessary to adopt both story drift and the component deformation based on displacementof performance-based design. In conventional elastic design process under the premise of meet the requirements ofcodes, under the earthquake action, Still cannot meet the minimum Target BuildingPerformance.
