| As traffic increases year by year, rutting, fatigue cracking have become the main typesof damage to the expressway, especially the gradient-adjusted pavement. Domestic andforeign studies have shown that high modulus asphalt concrete is a new pavement materialthat can effectively reduce the pavement rutting disease. The problems of the asphaltpavement rutting disease in Jiangxi were investigated and studied, and the finite elementsoftware was used to analyze the causes for the occurrence of the disease, the analysisbelieves that the increase of the modulus of the mid-surfacing layer can actively improve theability to prevent rut. by adopting penetration, viscosity and SHRP analysis system, theexperimental study has been carried out for four typical high modulus binders, and thetechnical indicators and requirements of high modulus binder have been provided, andseveral mixtures such as EME20, AC20, Sup20and etc. have been selected to conduct roadperformance comparison, and it is found that the fatigue resistance of EME20asphaltmixture is higher than AC20one. The comparison study of high-modulus agent performancewas carried out, the pilot road paving was conducted and the construction technology wassummarized.Main conclusions were drawn from the combination of the indoor experimental studyand the field study as follows: firstly, it is recommended that the foreign high modulus binderof better high-temperature stability performance and a high modulus1#domestic-made bindershould be used in highway construction. Secondly, experimental results of variousperformances show that comparing EME20, the AC20and Sup20mixture is easier to compact,and porosity of EME20is least among them; the rutting resistance and fatigue resistance ofEME20mixture are superior to the other two mixtures. Thirdly, domestic additive productshave the possibility to replace foreign high modulus agent products. Fourthly, the variousvolume indicators, aggregate gradation and the compaction degree of the asphalt mixture canmeet the requirements of the construction guidance, and the asphalt mixture has better roadperformances, especially the rutting-resistance. Fifthly, as an effective technical means ofreducing rutting, and the low temperature performance of high modulus asphalt mixture andits resistance to water damage are also comparatively excellent. |
