In this paper, Based on the bridge pile Foundation project of Shanxi He (Hejin)-Yun(Yuncheng) highway, axial bearing characteristics of squeezed pile with branches and platesare studied with using laboratory centrifuge model test.The bearing capacity of squeezed pilewith branches and plates impacted on the plate size, shape, location, number, space, and thespace between plates and weak layer is studied through designing different models, so as tofind reasonable parameters of this project; In addition, by designing a different condition, thebearing capacity of single squeezed with branches and plates impacted on the pile space andvertical space is studied, and obtains a reasonable pile spacing.On this basis, the squeezed with branches and plates failure modes and mechanism, andthe influence factors of bearing capacity of squeezed branch pile are discussed with the axialload transfer mechanism of squeezed branch piles and basic theory of computation.Finally, the axial bearing capacity of single pile impacted on the position and diameter,and the single pile bearing capacity, settlement and deformation impacted on the pile spaceare calculated and analyzed by using the finite element software of MIDAS/GTS, comparedwith the results of centrifugal model test, the best results of the branch and plate location, theoptimal plate spacing, and the single pile optimal pile spacing for this project are summarized,which provides a reliable basis for the design of squeezed branch pile. Moreover, the methodto determine the bearing capacity of squeezed pile with branches and plates are discussed, theadvantages and disadvantages of each method are comparative analyzed, which provides atheoretical basis for selecting the most practical method in the design process.
