A Study Of Governance Of Urban Traffic Congestion Based On The Concentration Of Residence

Urban transportation is the bond between citizens and various social activities. It is extremelyimportant for the development of a city’s economy and people’s living standards. In addition, urbantransport influences and leads the development of the entire urban functional arrangements, thus improvingpeople’s living and getting around.Traffic congestion has become a worldwide problem that restricts the development of a city oncondition that population increases, national economy and urbanization rapidly develops, and social andeconomic activities boom. Traffic congestion caused economic loss, environmental pollution,transportation security problem block the development of the socio-economic development. The expansionof urbanization causes the separation of people’s residence and work, which aggravates traffic congestion.If urban traffic congestion can not be effectively solved, it is bound to threaten the economic developmentof our country.Following the idea of finding problem, analyzing problem and solving problem. In this paper, to solvethe problem of traffic congestion caused by the separation of people’s residence and work, a detailedanalysis of the current situation of traffic congestion as well as the corresponding causes and features hasbeen made. We find that the main factors causing urban traffic congestion is the peak of traffic flow causedby daily commute. To solve the problem from basis, we study the relationship among the residential place,workplace and commuting traffic. We also analyze the effect of the concentration of residence on urbantraffic. Based on the above study, we propose strategies of solving the urban traffic congestion problemfrom the aspect of the concentration of residence. We expect that the study in this paper can play a positiverole in improving the condition of urban traffic congestion.
