With the aggravation of the market competition, the traditional way of paver assemblyproduction has not already satisfied the market demand. According to the research results of acompany’s wheeled paver assembly line, the main problems of current paver assembly in onecompany are analyzed in the dissertation. And the paver assembly in assembly line’s mode ofproduction is put forward. In order to improve production efficiency of paver assembly, thebalancing problem of the assembly line and planning problems of the new workshop arestudied in the paper.Firstly, combined with the structural characteristics and the assembly process ofthe wheeled paver, the preliminary planning for the new assembly line is proposed. On thebasis of the analysis and study of the paver assembly line’s balancing problem, the balancingproblem of new paver assembly line is studied with linear programming, branch and boundmethod, heuristic algorithm and genetic algorithm, and eventually four kinds of assemblyschemes are concluded. Secondly, the eM-Plant is used for modeling and simulation aimed atthis four kinds of assembly schemes. Through a comparative analysis of the four schemes’evaluation index and the simulation data, the conclusion is drawn that using the geneticalgorithm for the solution of paver assembly line’s balancing optimization is the best andverifies the effectiveness and universality of the genetic algorithm for solving the balancingproblem of assembly line through the example.Lastly, according to the new paver assembly workshop’s shape, size and the optimalprocess, the layout and planning are made in the new workshop, and the three workshoplayout schemes are obtained. In order to select the optimal layout scheme, respectively usesthe analytic hierarchy process and the AHP-Fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method toevaluate three layout schemes, and finally selects the optimal layout scheme.The studies of the paver assembly line can not only improve the production efficiency ofthe enterprise, but also find out the method to solve the assembly line balancing problem oflarge engineering machinery equipment. The research has important instructive significanceto consecutive similar research of paver assembly balancing problem.
