With the increasing of population and the rapid development of social economy, thewater demand of water department is growing; the shortage of water resources is also rising.The northwest, the north China and the northeast are shortage in water resources, due tothe distribution is uneven of water resources in China, especially in time and space. Since the21st century and the rapid development of domestic economy, the living standard of peoplehas been greatly improved, at the same time the urban people’s living water and industrialwater consumption has increased. The rapid development of the city that makes peopleignored the environment protection and governance in time, led to the pollution of waterresources is serious, therefore have to cross river, across the region for the water conveyanceproject of long distance. At present domestic long distance pipeline project is increasingrapidly, but how to choose the water pipes, water hammer protection measures, economicflow velocity of water pipe and so on, many technical problems remains to be further researchand discussion, the water hammer protection of water pipeline is the most common and themost prominent problems.This paper introduce the production, harm and classification of water hammer in longdistance water conveyance pipeline, and briefly expound the development course, the researchstatus of water hammer protection research at home and abroad; This paper summarizes thesource and formation of gas and two-phase flow pattern and six mutual conversion in the longwater pipeline; This paper analyze the air movement in pipe damage, air movement conditionbooster, etc; This paper introduce several methods of water hammer calculation, at present themost commonly used, the most accurate method to calculate water hammer is thecharacteristic line method, and elaborated in detail the derivation process and the applicationconditions of the characteristic line method; This paper analyze the boundary conditionequations of commonly used water hammer protective equipment in big diameter and flat pipe;and compile equations of water hammer calculation in c++language program and implementcomputer calculation.This article summarized the water hammer characteristics of large diameter flat pipe, andemphatically analyze the structure, working principle, characteristics and key points ofselection of commonly used water hammer protection equipment including slowly closingcheck valve, exhaust valve, pressure relief valve and two-way regulating tower, for practicalengineering choosing water hammer protective equipment provides the choice basis. Finally, respectively take the water supply programs of Huainan city and Zuoyun as theexample, for simulation calculation of water hammer protection in various working conditions.According to various water hammer protective equipment for the influence of the waterhammer pressure and water hammer simulation results,the comparative analysis of differentwater hammer protection scheme, finally determine the optimum water hammer protectionscheme. I hope that this paper for water hammer protection provide practical referencesignificance for similar projects.
