According to the study of bridge management, at present, bridge management mode andmanagement method was timeworn. It brings a lot of inconvenience for the maintenance andmanagement relying on the artificial method to collect, analyze and manage bridgesinformation; If the bridge technical file is missing, technician only can rely on the qualitativeunderstanding and experience to study the bridge technical condition, determining the bridgemaintenance and repair plan based on the past experience; Meanwhile, the bridge dailymaintenance cannot be guaranteed because of lacking funds and technology. This causes thedisease of the bridge, reduces the bearing capacity of the bridge and affects the normal use ofthe bridge.Based on the research results at home and abroad, through field investigation andtheoretical analysis, bridge durability and safety evaluation was studied in this paper. Themain results were shown as the following:1. Through research of the evaluation method of the bridge technical condition, thispaper established the evaluation model, evaluation rules, assessment method and assessmentprocess of the bridge technical condition which covered most bridge types in ShanxiProvince.2. The composition of bridge monitoring system and the main monitoring contents of thebridge health monitoring project was clearly determined. The advantages and disadvantagesof each monitoring content, monitoring method and the range of the bridge health monitoringsystem were analyzed. Besides, the bridge health assessment model was established; theprinciple of the warning value was determined; and the method of each warning value’sformulation was clearly determined.3. The prediction method and model of bridge technique condition was set up, havingrealized the prediction of bridge technology condition.4. There are various and very scattered technical information formed in bridgemaintenance reinforcement areas, but this is not convenient to users. This papersystematically integrated the distributed technical information, built the typicalcountermeasures database of bridge maintenance and reinforcement. 5. Special bridge management diagnosis system was developed, the system functionalrequirements include the bridge basic and archives information input and management, thebridge inspection detection and health monitoring information input and management, and thebridge history information input and management, statistical statement, and other functions.
