Construction Quality Control Of City Fast-track Asphalt Surface

There is a big difference between urban road and general road. Urban road issusceptible to pavement disease at the bus stop, inspection well, underground pipes buriedpoints and other places. Therefore, the paving and compacting quality control should bestrengthened to ensure the road performance. With the growth of urban road traffic, theconstruction quality of the asphalt pavement for urban road is more and more obvious,which is mainly manifested in the quality of raw materials, the design of asphalt mix, themixing of asphalt mix, the transportation, paving, compacting and other quality controllingissues of asphalt mix. To improve the quality of urban road asphalt pavement, it is necessaryto strengthen the quality control of asphalt pavement construction, analysis the relevanttechnology solutions and effectively manage the quality of construction.In this paper, the project of the newly-built highway from the national road310to Jiliarea in Luoyang City was introduced firstly. Then the quality control indicators for the rawmaterials of each layer and the mixtures were proposed based on the structure type of theasphalt pavement. During the control process of the asphalt mixture design, some measureswhich can optimize the asphalt mixture design were proposed through lots of test analysisstudy. For the specialty of the urban road construction, several suggestions for the mixingplant selecting of asphalt mixture were presented. For the mixing of asphalt mixture, thequality can be controlled from the aspects of the choosing of mixing equipments,experimental testing, mixing temperature control etc. For the transportation process, theheat preservation controlling measure was given. For the paving and compacting process,the construction quality can be controlled from the aspects of the choosing of the equipment,paving temperature, paving thickness, choosing of the paving technique in the city’s specialsection, equipping of the compactor and the compacting procedure, joints treatment etc.And the quality evaluation methods of the compactness, deflection, structural depth,permeability coefficient and flatness were studied in the end.Through the study, it can be concluded that the quality control in each constructionstage is the key for qualified construction of the urban asphalt pavement; and the specialistof the urban road environment determines the difference of the construction quality controlmethod and the emphasis priority of each road performance indicator.
