In view of the increasing environmental pollution, and the depletion of the oil and theother non-renewable energy, people become more and more attention to the high efficiency ofthe use of the oil and gas resources, the energy saving and emission reduction of the vehicle.Grader products are always in the bad, or high load operating conditions, so energy savingbecomes imperative. At present, the grader mainly faces the problem that how to select themaximum economy stalls in the different work load, while, this problem can be solved bysimulation of the load of the gear selection. Therefore, according to the actual operationsituation of a grader working at a reasonable position can be developed to maximize thetraction force and has no major fluctuations, in the precondition of ensuring the efficiency ofthe mechanical work without a big change, working at energy-saving model has an importantpractical significance.Based on the analysis of vehicle dynamics and the working principle of the maincomponents of mechanical transmission system, the engine, mechanical gear box, tire runningresistance, load model can be built in the Matlab/Simulink simulation platform; the engineworks in the external characteristic and speed characteristic curve when the fuel consumptionand traction force test are done. Importing Matlab model enhances the practicability of thesimulation model. In order to fully understand the different vehicle speed, engine economicperformance of medium and small load; under different load and gear, a simulation test oftransmission system is done, with the different output power consumption, systemperformance and fuel consumption. The results show that: heavy load and low speed runninghas a good fuel economy, which can ensure the quality of work and also can improve theutilization rate of fuel; economic work area of the engine is rather larger, ranging from1200rpm to1600rpm, and the traction is between the500N and the external characteristiccurve. The more gear selection, the greater economic work area the engine work in the scopeof the optional point. Using the test data, a simulation model of engine fuel consumption rateis established. This simulation studies on dynamic system under different loading conditionsof fuel consumption. The simulation results of a Matlab original without fuel consumptionrate model, another is to import data into the model, comparing the model of the economy with the original model, the former one has a smaller difference with the practice, whichenhances the practicability of the simulation model, laid the foundation for the simulationmodel to improve the fuel economy of grader.
