Currently, electric propulsion which has a large number of its own superiority hasbecome the international direction of development of ship propulsion, and in our country,research on ship electric propulsion system is still in its infancy, it may have manyproblems in the practical application. Therefore, simulation system of ship electricpropulsion can make some references to the research of ship electric propulsion.This paper regards the vector control for asynchronous motor as the main objectof study on ship electric propulsion system. After summarize the mathematical models,build simulation models in the MATLAB environment and then analyze simulation results.Firstly, summarize the basic principles of the current hysteresis vector control system andvoltage space vector control system, on the basis, establish the simulation models. Use thesimulation results to analyze the motor operating characteristics under the two kinds ofcontrol methods. The results show that current ripple and torque jump amplitude of thevoltage space vector control system is smaller when the motor starts.Secondly, because the speed sensorless vector control technology has a wide researchprospects in digital control technology, this article focuses on vector control system basedon MRAS and full-order adaptive observer, then create two simulation models inMATLAB environment. Compared the results of the simulation, it shows that the twocontrol systems are able to run and because of the current feedback loops, the speedestimation of full-order adaptive observer has a higher accuracy.Finally, this paper analyzes the operating characteristics of propeller. Then establishthe simulation model of the ship propeller. Combined propeller model and the four modelsof vector control, build simulation models of marine electric propulsion system based onvector control. Then analyze the operating characteristics by results of the simulation. Theresults show that the electric propulsion system based on voltage space vector control has agood performance.
