Spiral bevel gear is widely used in the key transmission for many importantmachines. The comprehensive performance of the gear and the production efficiencycan be improved by forging, production cost will be reduced, too. In this paper,cold-precision-forging of small module spiral bevel gear is simulated, the hotforging-cold finishing simulation and forging experiments of the medium modulus’sspiral bevel gear have been done. The research contents and results are as follows:1The spiral bevel gear forging has been analyzed, according to the methods, basedon the way of determining gear basic geometric parameters and characteristics of toothprofile. TCA and gear edge finishing methods are analyzed, spiral bevel gear geometryparameters suitable for precision forging of small module and hot forging-cold fishingof medium module are respectively designed.2Precision forging blank models are established by UG of small module spiralbevel gear, according to the tooth surface dates, the gear and pinion models are got, aftergear pair assembled, there is theoretical contact region, the accurate geometricparameter is verified, under the mold analyzed, the small module precision forging diesand the3d model of billet are built.3Small module spiral bevel gear cold-precision-forging is simulated byDEFORM-3D, forming and the equivalent stress and strain distribution in the processare depicted in the gear precision forging, the relationship between stroke and load isanalyzed, trend of the gear forging forming simulation loading force change and forgingrequired the maximum loading force value are got, by changing the pitch cone angleand the tooth alveoli volume, the effect that geometric parameter in precision forging isanalyzed, the results showed, the difficulty of gear forging decreases with the increase of pitch cone angle, the pinion has opposite result, loading force of gear precisionforging process is proportional to the size of tooth alveoli. In the process of precisionforging simulation analysis and demolding, at this case, the gear can directly be out ofthe mold, with the accurate tooth profile. pinion demold in rotation, deform ate seriously,can’t demold. The mould processing technology and the correction methods areelaborated, two methods of finishing die are list.4Medium-modulus hot forging-cold finishing mould model and the blank modelare established, forming process of hot forging-cold finishing is simulated, the goodtooth profile is got, the gear damage, equivalent strain and rate of maximum principalstress and the maximum principal factors have been dynamic analyzed in the local point.Some factory machines are adopted to do the forging experiments, under the hotforging-cold finishing processing, the gear good tooth profile of spiral bevel gear hasbeen got after demolding, forging has accurate tooth shape, without obvious flow, it’s inline with the simulation.
