With the rapid development of Chinese economical social, the rapid growth of the volume of cars reached to137million in2013, is5.7times that of2003. Road traffic accidents become the number one threat to people’s life and property safety, vehicle safety has been paid attention to by people. In all kinds of road traffic accident, car rear truck accident casualties supreme. This is due to the difference between the car and the car tail overall dimensions big, car crash compatibility in the worst, and truck rear end accident, the car suffered the most serious casualties, often caused by cars scrapped directly. Therefore, there is important significance of rear underrun protective device in the protection of rear end car driver and passenger safety. GB "vehicle and trailer rear underrun protection device" on size protection device after the trucks and installation requirements made detailed provisions, but not for the protection device structure size stipulated, usually by the manufacturer to decide. Protective device for every kind of common mostly monolithic thin steel plate welding with simple car tail, the protective performance is not optimistic.Using three-dimensional modeling software to design a kind of swinging rear underrun protective device, using the Ansys/Ls-Dyna finite element analysis software, in accordance with the provisions of GB11567.2-2001, the rear underrun protective device applied static load analysis. The results show that the protective device and the body in the welding and bolt connecting two different cases, connected by bolts can effectively avoid the connection of stress concentration, and support as the main part of the force. But by welding, connections exist obvious stress concentration, may to cause the protective frame dropping.Analyze the result of static loading test of the protective frame. And improve the weak parts of the connecting part and support part. Establish the model of car, Using the software of hypermesh to mesh the protective frame and car model, formulate the constraints of model, then get the model of finite element analysis. Analysis of simulation result, improve the weakest part, confirm the final structure of model. analysis the values of speed, acceleration, energy in the collisional processes,then study the safety of car. Based on the design and simulation of tilting truck collision protective frame,improve and strength the protective frame structure.It make a big difference for our society.
