Along with China’s Highway network gradually formed, road transport has become the primary means of passenger and freight transport, the semi-trailer,which has the advantages of affordable、transport efficiency、load and lower shipping cost, has become the main road freight transport. The traditional design experience is so conservative that the quality and the stiffness of the products is too large, which not only reduces the semi-trailer’s loading capacity directly but also increase the fuel consumption and exhaust emissions as well. It will exacerbate the environment pollution.The shortcomings could be overcome by lightweight design that the semi-trailer is made of high-strength steel instead of the original ordinary steel for traditional semi-trailer. In order to ensure with the semi-trailer still have a good performance after the substitution of high-strength steel, Linear static and nonlinear dynamic analysis of the frame has been done at different operating conditions,which draws strength and stiffness of the frame, the results drew by analysis are verified and achieve the requirements of the factory.Nonlinear dynamics analysis for the semi-trailer rear underrun protection is also made,which draws rear underrun protection’s deformation and the speed and acceleration changes over time curve of the mobile barrier, and the results meet the relevant requirements of the GB.
