A Preliminary Historic Research On The Quanzhou Traditional Architecture Terminology

Construction terminology refer to the involved in the professional terms and thename of the practice when associated with traditional building constructionactivities,is the language of specialized been said concept.As early as The NorthernSong Dynasty,there had been systematic carding about construction terminology inthe building professional book "yingzaofashi".Fujian Quanzhou has a long history asthe starting point of China’s Maritime Silk Road,and it is also a core area ofSouthern Fujian cultural protection. With the increasing depth and breadth ofresearch,in the aspect of architectural culture, the current study of Quanzhoutraditional architecture not only had a such of achievements inspace, structure,decoration and regional culture,but also show a certain size in research results ofconstruction terminology after decades of precipitation which is the most importantcarrier of the architectural history research.The current Quanzhou constructionterminology research is although many but a bit scattered,there has been noreviewing and summarizing about relevant research methods and academicthoughts,so that many researchers cannot master the field research status and theexisting research methods, this not only hindered the process of research, but alsoaffected the objectivity of research results.Under the awareness in the current research status, this paper comb the existingresearch and results about Quanzhou traditional construction terms carefully sincethe modern times (including the books, journal articles,dissertations, conferencepapers and other documents published since modern times), inspect the relatedresearch subject and academic schools comprehensively, from several levels of theterm research based on the traditional building material, interviewing the craftsman,and philological method. Trying to make a systematic analysis and induction to theresearch process of Quanzhou traditional architectural construction terms, do mybest to reveal the typical academic ideas and research methods in different periods,clear the current existing problems and further direction in the future, offer reference for related research. Then on the basis of the existing research methods, tryingpracticality and complementary studies in the level of interviewing the craftsmanand philology, and exploring new research methods and practice, in order topromote Quanzhou traditional architectural construction terms studies further thathaving a new breakthrough, contribute to the perfecting the Southern Fujian regionof architectural history research and protecting Southern Fujian traditional culture.
