Tower crane is one of the main equipments in the building construction enterprises.Inrecent years,with the needs of national economy development,the demand of tower cra-ne is rising.The utilization rate of tower crane is also higher and higher.At the same tim-e,accidents of tower crane arrive in quick succession.In order to avoid this kind of acci-dent from happening again,we require that engineering technicians understand structuralcharacteristics of each tower crane.It has important significance to reduce the accident r-ate of tower crane.Based on the finite element method, the statics of machinery,the dynamics of mach-inery,design rules for cranes,signal processing methods and so on,this paper uses param-eterized modeling technology,finite element analysis software Ansys and signal proces-sing software Matlab to do analyses of strength, stiffness and stability about tower cranestructure.And then this paper studys the effects of earthquakes about the tower crane bysimulating the damaged process of tower crane when the earthquake happen.The mainresearch contents are as follows:1.The model of tower crane is simplified to the space truss structure.By using Beam188element,Link8element,and using the APDL language of ANSYS to write commandflow of tower crane structure,the finite element model of tower crane structure is establ-ished.And strength and stiffness of tower crane structure are studied under three typicalworking conditions.2.By using the techonology of structure elastic stability analysis in Ansys,the thesis s-tudies eigenvalue buckling characteristic and nonlinear buckling characteristic of towercrane structure.Through theoretical analysis and calculation,the buckling critical loadsof three working conditions are determined.Compared with the rated loads in three wor-king conditions,the safety margins are determined in three working conditions eventual-ly. 3.The modal analysis of tower crane structure is done.The first five natural frequenci-es and the main vibration modes are extracted from the modal analysis results.On the b-asis of modal analysis,The paper uses a particular seismic wave to do time history anal-ysis firstly.And the paper uses the relation curve of general level seismic influence coef-ficient and structural system natural vibration period to do spectrum analysis.Finally,aft-er post-processing,the paper gets the seismic response of tower crane structure to provi-de the reference for seismic design of tower crane structure.
