Proportional multi-way valve is the hydraulic control component controllingactuators directly in hydraulic system or valve playing a major role in an integratedvalve, it has been applied widely in construction machinery field. As the mostcritical control component, its movement characteristics determine the motioncharacteristics of actuators and the performance of system. In order to design andimitate multi-way valve having better performance at a low cost, it is need toresearch the key technology of valve. This thesis takes HAWE PSL proportionalmulti-way valve as research object, studies the structural characteristics, the flowfield characteristics, throttle area, relation of double-joint valve, static and dynamiccharacteristics, common malfunction of this valve.Firstly, the proportional multi-way valve model is established, the internalflow field is simulated and analyzed. This paper calculates throttle area of multi-way valve including inlet opening, outlet opening and control part on the basis ofdouble-joint valve. The throttle area-spool displacement characteristic curve isacquired. The valve orifice area data obtained through the flow field simulationverifies the accuracy of numerical calculation results. Then the working principle and structure of proportional multi-way valvesystem are introduced in detail, this paper focuses on compositional and structuralanalysis of valve block connected pump and basic valve block, using AMESimsoftware to simulate basic constituent components and obtains the characteristiccurves of major components. The correctness of established component models isverified by comparison between product samples and simulation curve. Finally, this paper presents a simulation and research on the proportionalmulti-way valve system model at AMESim environment, discusses the staticperformance and loading-sensing properties. And then studies the main valve spoolmotion characteristics, pressure changes on oil inlet and outlet, actuator movementcharacteristics. The influences of spring preload, stiffness and viscous friction onthe multi-way valve system properties are analyzed and compared. Besides, thispaper also researches the common malfunctions such as orifice clogging, excessivegas of oil and oil spilling, analyzes the impact on multi-way valve system properties.
