Since the advent in1912, mass spectrometer has been widely used because of its convenience and efficiency. In the21st century, mass spectrometer started developing towards miniaturization, specialization and low cost, leading to its more and more extensive application. During the manufacture process of mass spectrometer, the design of electronic system affects the performance of the whole mass spectrometer directly, which makes it vital important to the mass spectrometer.Different from the traditional electronic system design of mass spectrometer, the modularization design idea is adopted in this paper, dividing the electronic system into several modules according to the structure of mass spectrometer. Each module is independent and can perform specific function, thus realizing the modularization design of mass spectrometer system.Based on the composition of mass spectrometer, the electronic system is divided into five modules: an I/O board with driving ability, an ion transport board, an arbitrary waveform generator board, an ion detection board and a timing control board. The I/O board with driving ability can control the solenoid valve and relay, which is mainly used in the vacuum system and injection system. The ion transport board can generate reliable voltage DC signal for the ion transmission in ion lens. The arbitrary waveform generator board can generate arbitrary waveform according to different wave files, aiming at ion selection through ion trap. The ion detection board fulfills the function of data acquisition, picking up the mass spectrometric signal of electron multiplier tube. The timing control board can generate several trigger signals, which control the whole electronic system.Based on the function requirement of each board in the electronic system, the design method is discussed in this paper in the aspects of hardware design, software programming, application program and etc. The performance indexes of each board are tested with regard to the performance index of each board, and the whole electronic system is tested finally. After the tests, the electronic system can work normally, meeting the requirements of the project.
