In missile’s overall design, aerodynamic characteristics analysis is an important part of the aerodynamic design, and its method can be roughly classified into three types:wind tunnel test, numerical analysis and engineering calculation. In the conventional missile development, aerodynamic characteristic analysis has a strong dependence on the wind tunnel test, which not only spend a lot of funds, but also a longer period. In recent years, with the development of computer technology and aerodynamic theory gradually mature and improve, engineering calculation and numerical analysis are gradually become the main research method of aerodynamic characteristics. Specially, the numerical analysis can accurately simulate the real flow field, and its results almost reach the precision of wind tunnel test.In this paper, firstly taking a certain type of cruise missiles as the research background, the engineering calculation program by FORTRAN language have been written, which based on aerodynamic theory and the empirical formula and calculated the accuracy of reference data(including lift coefficients, drag coefficients and moment coefficients) for the preliminary design stage missile development; Then considering the detailed design phase of the missile, aerodynamic data have been calculated using numerical analysis by FLUENT. Besides, a series of contours of pressure, speed and temperature also supplied to reflect the flow field of the related actual situation.The research content of this paper is under the background of specific engineering, has a certain engineering practicability, can provide certain reference for the aerodynamics design of missile.
