With the problem of environmental pollution and energy shortage are becoming moreand more seriously, the development of renewable electrical energy has become aninevitable trend. As a non-pollution, abundant reserves, renewable energy, wind energyhas become an important direction for renewable energy development worldwide. Thispaper focuses on the following two aspects: one is the super capacitor and battery hybridenergy storage system, the other is the maximum power tracking control.Firstly, the paper introduces that the background and significance of this topicresearch, discusses the current situation of wind power technology in domestic and foreign,and gives a main circuit topology structure which direct-drive permanent magnetsynchronous wind power generation system, all components are introduced in detail andcarried out simulation about the hybrid energy storage system, Afterwards, it has analyzedthe uncontrollable rectifier Buck-Boost Chopper circuit, drawn relationship betweenoutput power and duty cycle, it is laid the foundation for research on maximum powerpoint tracking control of permanent magnet generator. In addition, it is simulated for thecharacteristics of the wind turbine, which lays a good foundation for the characteristic ofsimulated wind turbine in the laboratory environment.Secondly, the paper focus on the research about maximum power tracking controlmethod of wind turbine, the detailed introduces that the tip speed ratio control, powercurve control and hill-climbing search algorithm, and through the analysis of maximumpower which select the hill-climbing algorithm for tracking control, and it is proposed onthe variable step hill-climbing algorithm and modified variable step algorithm which isbased on the traditional climbing algorithm.Finally, the simulation model of wind speed and direct-drive permanent magnet windpower system MPPT control method, and the MATLAB/simulink simulation has beencarried out, the results show that the improved variable step climbing algorithm comparedwith the traditional fixed step climbing algorithm, it improves the stability of the systemand the accuracy and rapidity of maximum power point tracking.
