This paper is focus on coaxial magnetic gear which performances by coupling Magneticfield. Compared to traditional mechanical gears, magnetic gear has the following advantages,such as: high torque density, high efficiency, easy maintenance, long life and so on. In recentyears it has draws more and more attentions, gradually being applied to wind power, directdrivers and other fields.This research comes from independent research "non-contact magnetic CVT design and itsapplication in a small light-load vehicle" of State Key Laboratory of Advanced Design andManufacturing for Vehicle Body of Hunan University (item number:71275001)This paper analyzes the coaxial magnetic gear in theoretical analysis, simulation, and test.The definite methods are as follows:Firstly analytical method is considered to derive and analyze the performance of magneticgear in detail, which tells us the relationship among the inner rotor, stator and the outer rotorin magnetic gear. Meanwhile, the topology model of magnetic gear is built to analyze themagnetic gear in magnetostatic and dynamic by using two-dimensional finite element method.Secondly, this paper proposes the new optimization about magnetic gear after grasping theperformance of magnetic gear in magnetostatic and dynamic. And the parameters of magneticgear will be optimizated according to the simulation results. In addition, the Halbach arrayswill be used in magnetic gear with reference to a common permanent magnet motor.Thirdly, due to manufacturing imperfectness of mechanical parts in magnetic gear, theeccentricity is inevitable. This study focuses on the effect of three kinds of static eccentricityon the performance of magnetic gear by calculating air gap radial magnetic flux density,unbalanced magnetic pull and cogging torque with different static eccentricities. The resultsshow that the static eccentricity significantly changes the performance of magnetic gear. Andthe calculation results can provide a guideline for the analysis and design of magnetic gear.Finally, through the experimental method some basic characteristics of the magnetic gearwill be verified, and the test results will be compared with finite element analysis results inorder to further optimize the magnetic gear, which includes the actual design of magneticgears, machining program, the magnetic gear bench layout, the choice of the experimentaltest-bed program.
