During the12th five-year plan, China set a clear goal of "energy-saving emissionreduction" work: industrial added value of energy consumption in2015fell21%compared with that in2010, and specifies the specific energy-saving targets in variousindustrial fields. In this context, industrial enterprises need to adjust the productionschedule or upgrading of equipment to meet the policy requirements based on accurateenergy data, therefore, industrial enterprises have urgent demand for the establishmentof energy consumption monitoring system. This paper studies for industrial automaticmeter system, the main work is as follows:1An automatic meter reading system design scheme for enterprise energyconsumption monitoring is proposed. The system netwok is Established bycomprehensive utilization of the wired network and Zigbee wireless network, and thedata of numbers of water meter, ammeter on the production line is real-time read andstored in the operation and management center. Data retrieval and statistics in a varietyof conditions can be realized using computer software, charts are also suported.2A low power design of automatic meter reading system is implemented.Because the frequency of meter reading in energy consumption monitoring applicationis much higher than that in the family, energy saving design becomes very critical forthe reading terminals using built-in battery power supply. This paper takes measures toreduce energy consumption of equipment, such as component selection, networkstructure planning, communication protocols,etc. Small current discharge experimentsare made on common kinds of alkaline batteries to estimate the real capacity ofbatteries in actual scene, and the battery selection is made on this basis.3The hardware and software of the meter reading terminal device, base stationdevice and data center are developed, and the functions of each unit are tested.4The overall system test is completed. In laboratory environment, functions andperformance are tested, including the major technical specifications such as readingaccuracy, reporting accuracy and continuous operation time. The test results show thatthe design can satisfy the demand of general energy consumption monitoring ofindustrial enterprises, and has great popularization value.
