ZigBee is a new short-range,low-power,low-cost wireless communication technology.It can achieve intercoordination between thousands of micro sensors based on IEEE802.15.4 wireless standard.By virtue of low-cost,simple protocol,easy networking,rich functions and other features,ZigBee technology has wide market space in the fields of industrial monitoring,smart home,medical testing,building automation,and etc.Through comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of IC card prepaid meter,traditional artificial checking ammeter system,wireless meter reading system and wired meter reading system,the ZigBee-based wireless meter reading technology will become the future trend of wireless meter reading system,by means of its advantages such as easy realization,advanced technology,low cost,easy popularization,high reliability,etc.Wireless meter reading system has very high requirements on anti-jamming performance and system power consumption.Therefore,this paper has used ZigBee wireless communication sensor network technology,which is characterized by high anti-jamming performance and low power consumption,to establish wireless meter reading network model suitable for residential quarters,and has conducted relevant research on energy consumption,network communication model,and other aspects.This paper has made the following researches:(1)In view of low reliability,high energy consumption and other weaknesses of existing wireless meter reading network,this paper takes into account the practical application environment of meter reading network in residential area,by referring to tree and star topology models of ZigBee network,proposes a new network model,i.e.star-tree network model,by combining tree and star topology network models.Through analyzing functions and working principle of each device of this network model,this paper presents a detailed design method of network layer,and elaborates working process and data transmission between various devices in meter reading network.(2)To reduce information redundancy of meter reading network and to improve accuracy and success rate of network communication,based on overall design program of wireless metering reading system,this paper has established a development platform for ZigBee wireless meter reading system,and conducted anti-jamming,power consumption and communication tests on star-tree network established based on this platform.The test results indicate that high accuracy and success rate of communication can be ensured within short-distance scope.(3)In order to reduce power consumption of nodes of meter-reading system,in the processes of building ZigBee-based wireless meter reading development platform,a new node of meter reading terminal has been designed by using low-power Atmega88 microcontroller and CC1100 wireless receiving and transmitting module.This thesis not only enriches research field of ZigBee-based wireless reading meter technology,lays a foundation for reducing development cost,but also offers references for research and development of ZigBee technology for its application in relevant fields.
