Based on the project of our department "Research, design and implementation of the film capacitor automatic test and picking machine", a low-cost, high reliability film capacitor withstanding DC Voltage tester DCTV-4000is proposed in this paper. Through the application and test applied with film capacitors automatic picking machine, the instrument gets a series of improvements.Firstly, we introduced the definition and major categories of capacitance, which focuses on the main characteristics of film capacitors, structure and detailed classification. We also described the main parameters need to detect and the current use of domestic and foreign tester.Next, we explain the importance of withstanding DC voltage test in the film capacitor production process. Through structural analysis of the capacitor, we demonstrate that the quality for what withstand test, analysis the characteristics of DC voltage and AC voltage withstand test. We also introduced the problem of this subject to solve, the occasion of the instrumentation and the meaning for actual production.We then introduced the film capacitor DC voltage tester design process. Through in-depth understanding of domestic and foreign similar products, to analyze the advantages and disadvantages, we make the design better. Through comprehensive analysis, we obtained the main technical indicators of the instrument needed to achieve, and established the whole system model with a systems engineering approach. In key technologies we described design process of the major high-pressure control loop, charge and discharge circuit and leakage current detection circuit, amended instruments of power, ground, internal routing and PCB to enhance the electromagnetic compatibility of equipment, etc. After the detection of related equipment, all of its static targets meet the design requirements.Finally, according to the practical effects, we improved DC voltage tester supporting equipment-high voltage power supply, altered test fixture and reduce the probability of high voltage ignition to improve their use environment.. In leakage current detection module we added chip protection circuit to improve the instrument’s ability to adapt to the high-pressure environment, and proposed some improvements for the selection of the module chip.After these improvements, the project developed the film capacitor DC voltage tester of the dynamic target to meet customer requirements for high-load automated production, achieving scale applications, resulting in considerable economic benefits.
