The combination of the UHF-RFID smart card technology with the web network platform may result in orderly parking, less time that car-owners waste and reduction of management personnel in garages. This paper proposes an intelligent garage system combining the UHF-RFID technology with the web technology. Through the positioning, recording and analyzing functions of the RFID card issued by the garage entrance, which can be read remotely, and sunthe information obtained by monitoring about the occupancy of parking spaces in the garage, this system makes it possible to intelligently manage the parking resources in the garage, to guide vehicles to their parking spaces and owners to their cars, and release to public the parking information in real-time.In order to improve the efficiency of the garage and make it convenient for the owners, the smart garage system designed is mainly based on computer networks, SCM (micro-controller), databases, passive UHF-RFID, ultrasound wave and infrared detect technology, so that the system is applicable to ground garages and underground multi-storey garages. Computers, or the SCM (micro-controller) and computers, are connected using Ethernet. B/S structure is employed in the system software, and Apache+PHP+MySQL is used as its server technology. The system adopts the principle of "nearby and equilibrium" to assign parking spaces, using Dijkstra shortest path algorithm so that every vehicle can be led to a vacant parking space. The hardware is based on passive UHF-RFID-based technology, using the remote RFID reader device to detect and monitor the location and status of the vehicles in the garage. The system is so programed as to perform the parking guidance, and to enable the software to conduct reverse search for car owners. The functional modules of upper machine (PC system) have been tested by simulating the transmission of lower machine data and every possible situation that might happen in the garage. Experimental tests show that the system can complete all the basic designed functions of the intelligent garage system. Since the system can be used on a variety of mobile devices, monitor the situation in the garage in real-time, and provide for drivers real-time information and high-efficient service, etc., it can provide a reference for future design of the smart garage system, and therefore has broad application development.
