The electric power is also growing with the continuous development of our economy as a kind of social base of energy supply. Power load serious overload, lack of electricity, electricity phenomenon have become increasingly frequent to sustainable economic development and people’s normal life which has caused great influence. In order to improve this situation, effectively ease the tight power supply and demand, the limit of thermal power installed capacity increase at the same time, it is very important to guarantee for the stable operation of unit, the power plant’s own technical renovation project smoothly is top priority.At present, our country electric power technical risk management is still at an early stage of the project, the project manager is often most is a rich production management experience, and risk management consciousness, management ability is poor, so only through an in-depth study of power technology reform project risk, adopt the method of system, dynamic on technical renovation project to conduct a comprehensive risk management, early identification of risk, the risk of adverse factors into its maximum, take appropriate measures to reduce and even eliminate the risk, to ensure technical renovation project to be successful, so at this stage to conduct the thorough research to the electric power engineering project risk management, technical transformation becomes extremely urgent.There are many aspects of power engineering project in the process of implementation by the influence of uncertainty factors, making the technical renovation engineering of actual target and the target produce certain difference, these differences are caused by the uncertainty of project goals is called power engineering project risk. This paper first introduces the general theory of risk management and electric power engineering project risk, technical characteristics and the necessity of risk management, and then through the risk identification to identify the main risk factors in the electric power engineering projects, technical and on this basis to build risk index system, combining with the fuzzy hierarchy comprehensive evaluation model of electric power engineering project risk evaluation, technical transformation. Dust and then empirical research the tangshan thermal power companies become reform engineering project risk identification, assessment and response process. In this paper, the research on electric power industry the significance of reference to the risk management of technical renovation project.
