Along with the development of economy and the increase in requirement of market, the scale of the power systems is continuously extending. In order to push forward the steady development of the centralized operation of the Datong power grid and satisfy the higher-level requirement of the power grid dispatching technology, it has been known as a key part to build up the intelligent power grid dispatching system in the establishment of the intelligent power grid, which is also why the visual intelligent early warning system should be developed. As the increase in territorial conformity of the power systems and unbalance of region source structure, the power grid is becoming more and more complex, new instances and issues are also coming out. Relevant data sharply aggrandized, however, in existing systems there are only few data which are showed in visualization means, more data showed in numeric mode are updated real-time. The data don’t contain deep abstract which operators need, and the correlation of data cannot be denoted definitely. The old ways of data display in EMS cannot meet the practical needs, so the requirement to find new intuitionist display ways for power grid data is becoming more and more insistent. The application and study of the visual intelligent early warning system in Datong power grid.The central aim of this project is finding effective methods and using figure displaying technique of computer to show the data which is collected and calculated in graphics mode, furthermore, constructing visualization platform in practical project, displaying data of power grid state and security analysis in graphics mode.Besides an introduction of the background and meaning of the research, this paper has also elaborated on the design, function and structure of the visual intelligent early warning system in Datong power grid. What is more, this paper has also made an in-depth analysis of the application situation of the visual intelligent early warning system in the dispatching of Datong power grid, which can be divided into the real-time supervision analysis, the early warning of stable operation, the intelligent strategy of power supply as well as the3D visual module.Finally, it summarizes the research work of this project points out the deficiency, and put forward some research aspects we can explore in further.
