| Social and economic development shows that the measure of a national modernization level which is a important symbol of the development of highway traffic conditions in the country. And the important factors that affect highway service level is the pavement performance whether can satisfy the requirement of transportation development. Highway pavement performance is a dynamic process of constant change, and how to take out the scientific and reasonable evaluation is the important basis for reasonable maintenance plan.Asphalt pavements have been widely applied along with the fast development of highway. Lots of asphalt pavements are facing early damages such as rut and water damage because of high temperature and rainfall. The weather of Chong qing changes with seasons obviously, the annual temperature is about20℃, with lunar temperature being9~16℃, the lowest temperature is in January, and highest one is in summer, with extremely temperature over40℃. Sometimes the pavement temperature is as high as70℃~80℃.Meanwhile, there is lots of rain in summer. High temperature in summer and water are the main factors which lead to pavement s early damage in Guangdong province.Based on the research of history technical data and pavement maintenance in Chongqing, Firstly, we carry out survey of asphalt pavement service performance in Chongqing road survey, according to research data, analyses the reasons that the types and causes of pavement damage; Secondly, combined with highway pavements of using environment and traffic characteristics in guangdong area, we improved individual single evaluation index for evaluation of asphalt pavement performance which aim at adjust measures to local conditions; Finally, based on broad research of pavement performance evaluation model, and combined with local actual road environment,we selected the matter-element model as comprehensive evaluation method of asphalt pavement performance in Chongqing region to evaluate asphalt pavement performance.This research applied the matter-element model to establish the asphalt pavement evaluation model PQI. In terms of overall, the new index model can betterly reflect the actual state of the road surface, and the evaluation of the model is more reasonable and scientific. This research results have important practical significance,for improving the scientific decision-making and management of highway maintenance departments,and also have theoretical value for highway construction management and sustainable development. |
