In recent years, the disciplinary ideas of knowledge engineering and systemdevelopment has been widely used in a diviertity of field of the social economicconstruction,which greatly improves the work efficiency and quality of the state,enterprises and individuals.And it will bring a great social benefits and economicbenefits.According to reliable news, the production of global knowledge engineeringcapacity is increasing by more than twenty percent each year,which has animmeasurable potential and influence.Therefore,knowledge engineering has promotedthe development and application of high technology, and it will also make the theoryof the knowledge engineering system go further.Facing the design status of overhead traveling crane,to make full use of designresource, based on the method of case-based reasoning, the design system of bridge ofoverhead traveling crane based on CBR was developed,which combined theparameterized design and finite element analysis technology with secondarydevelopment based on SolidWorks using VB.NET,and the key technologies andimplementation methods used in system was discussed. The details are as follows:Firstly, the background and significance of this paper are introduced,whichinclude current situation and development trend of the crane both at home and abroad,as well as brief description of the application of modern design theory method inbridge crane design.Secondly, the modular design technology is studied.This paper discusses theapplication of principle of modular in the bridge design of bridge crane,and introducesthe bridge foundation design knowledge and experience formula of various modules.Thirdly, the application of knowledge engineering in the bridge crane design isdiscussed.The meaning and application fields of knowledge engineering technologyare introduced.Three elements of knowledge engineering:knowledge acquisition,knowledge representation and knowledge application are thoroughly analyzed.Theapplication of case-based reasoning design application in bridge design is highlighted.Then,the application parameters design in bridge design is introduced. And thetop-down modeling method and three dimensional parametric design are explored.Lastly,the development process,the understanding of the developmentenvironment and development tools,the related standard of system design and the database knowledge of bridge design of bridge crane based on knowledge engineeringare introduced. And an application example is given.This design system has realized the parametric design of bridge, greatly reducedthe work of calculation and modeling.Therefore the design cycle is dramaticallyshortened.
