With the rising operator speed of the train, when the vehicle speed is too fast causing a collision, coupler buffer devices,anti-climber and energy-absorbing devices arranged in an end portion of the vehicle are not able to fully absorb the impact energy, so the vehicle body ends even passenger region will occur deformation that will reduce the living space for passengers. Due to the constraint of vehicles space and the limit of energy-absorbing devices absorption characteristics, the space to improve absorbing energy is little.So in this article in order to improve the crashworthiness of the vehicle body structure, choosing the ends of the vehicle chassis region as a object of study for topology conceptual design.Aimed at geometric nonlinearity in structure collisions,the optimization method using gradient-based information will be an expensice computational cost to produce a topology conceptual design structure, but hybrid cellular automata algorithms, which does not rely on gradient information, is able to generate a better topology conceptual design quickly. In this method, the uniform strain energy density is the criteria; the quality is the constraint condition; the local rules of cellular automata is performed to obtain reasonable topology optimization results.In order to make the concept design results can be applied to engineering practice, choosing the concept design of topological results under a collision as the prototype and selecting the combined vertical load and torsional load conditions as a optimization design condition to get topology optimization results. In order to obtain beams distribution in the struture that ensure the bending stiffness and torsional rigidity, transforming topology optimization results into structures can be made in manufacturing process.Taking the standard conditions for checking the chassis structure, modifying the unreasonable structure completes topology conceptual design of vehicle chassis struture.
