In recent years, with the architects’ requirements of architecture style and sensoryis improving, and the use function is diverse, a large number of irregular publicbuildings is built. This kind of buildings mostly have a large body and a complexmodel. In order to forming complex use function, large patio or central shared spacewould be set in the building. High-rise frame structure withrectangular-ambulatory-plane is used in mostly irregular public buildings which iscrowd. The consequence is disastrous once a earthquake happened in our countrywhich is earthquake-prone.In this paper, a high-rise frame structure with rectangular-ambulatory-plane inHeFei is researched mainly from the following aspects:1. The rectangular-ambulatory-plane structure’s response spectrum analysis andelastic time history analysis under the weak earthquakes was analyzed in SATWE.The results show that the structures has a good performance both in elastic condition, rigidity and ductility, and also satisfy the fortification goal of "no damage under minorearthquake".2. The rectangular-ambulatory-plane structure’s push-over analysis and dynamictime-history analysis was analyzed in PUSH&EPDA. The results show that theinjury mechanism of two mechanical models is similar and also satisfy thefortification goal of “strong columns and weak beams, strong shear and weakbending”. The structure can satisfy the requirement of “no collapse under strongearthquake”.3. The pushover analysis of the rectangular-ambulatory-plane structure’s singerframework around the hole was carried on. The results show that the injurymechanism of singer framework is consistent with the building’s, and satisfy therequirement of “strong column weak beam, strong shear weak bending”.4. Combined with the concepts of performance-based seismic design method, theseismic performance’s objectives of the structure and components is determined, andthe seismic design is conducted.5. The rectangular-ambulatory-plane structure’s floor stress under minorearthquake, middle earthquake and strong earthquake was analyzed in Midas. Theresults show that some particular locations around the hole exist local stressconcentration and the stress of other parts is too large. Based on the above analysis, the overall coordination of the structure can beimproved and the irregular structure can be still seen as rule structure bystrengthening the plate strength of rectangular-ambulatory-plane structure. The resultscan be referred by similar engineering.
